NEET Guide for MBBS Abroad — Everything You Need to Know
Last updated:
What Is NEET?
NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is a national-level entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to undergraduate medical courses in India and abroad. For Indian students planning to study MBBS abroad, qualifying NEET is a mandatory requirement.
Why NEET Is Important for MBBS Abroad
As per the National Medical Commission (NMC) guidelines, Indian students who pursue MBBS abroad must have qualified NEET to be eligible to appear for the FMGE/NExT exam upon their return to India. Without a valid NEET qualification, your foreign medical degree will not be recognized for medical practice in India.
NEET Qualification Requirements
- For General Category: Must score equal to or above the cutoff percentile
- For Reserved Categories (SC/ST/OBC): Relaxed cutoff percentile
- For PwD Category: Further relaxed cutoff
- Validity: NEET score is valid for 3 years for MBBS abroad
NEET Cutoff Trends
| Year | General Cutoff | OBC Cutoff | SC/ST Cutoff |
